By using recycled plastic bottles and waste from the manufacturing industry to create our fabrics, we help to keep these items out of our oceans and landfills. Compared to creating new raw material, our fabrics offset using new petroleum, which results in emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserves water and energy. All of our activewear is created through the use of eco-processing. Only non-toxic chemicals and dyes with Oeko-Tek Stand 100 Certification are used. Our products have all the same great qualities of traditional activewear, but now you can feel good about wearing it!
Sun Shirts & Long Sleeve Swimsuits
Our Sun Shirts and Long Sleeve Swimsuits are made using pre-consumer waste from the manufacturing industry that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill. By using recycled polyamide, we avoid approximately 50 percent of carbon dioxide emissions and use approximately 50 percent less energy compared to using new, virgin material. Through the regenerative process, the new fibers are just as durable as virgin raw polyamide except with less of an environmental impact!
Leggings, Shorts, Reversible Tops, & Headbands
Our leggings, shorts, reversible tops, and headbands are made with recycled polyester fibers from PET bottles and nylon, which reduce the environmental impact by:
- Mitigation of energy consumption by 45%
- Reduction of water consumption by approximately 20%
- Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 30%
- Electrical energy savings of up to 700 kWh/ton
You may be wondering how recycled plastic bottles can be turned into activewear. Well, it all starts with YOU every time you recycle! Plastics labeled with a #1 on the bottom have the same chemistry make-up as polyester. These recycled plastic bottles and single use plastics are washed and chopped into flakes. Then the flakes are melted and formed into chips. After that, the chips are melted and formed into fibers or threads which are then used to knit our fabric. Our fabric is then dyed using environmentally friendly dyes and processes and sewn into our activewear.
