On June 28th, we hosted another successful ocean cleanup on Oahu at Point Panic, our adopted dive site. It was a perfect day for it—clear skies, calm seas, and a team of dedicated volunteers ready to make a difference for Hawaii’s marine life.

By the end of the scuba dive cleanup, our crew had removed an incredible 204 pounds of marine debris from the ocean. Alongside the usual fishing line, weights, and plastic waste, we found some unusual items: a traffic cone, a stuffed animal, a dustpan, an unopened bottle of wine, and even a set of false eyelashes. You never know what you’ll find under the waves!

This event was also a bittersweet one as we said “a hui hou” to our longtime volunteer, Jafr. For the past few years, he’s been a constant presence at our volunteer ocean cleanups on Oahu—always showing up with a smile and ready to help. He’ll be greatly missed, and we wish him the very best as he heads back to the mainland.
